What a busy summer I have had. In May I took my husband for a long weekend to Orlando Universal Studios for his birthday. It was so much fun..... riding crazy rides, and being a big kid!
In June he and I took our special vacation without the kids. We traveled on a road trip to Charleston SC, Hilton Head SC, Savannah GA, and Tybee Island GA. It was hot and humid, but we had a wonderful time together. July was my mother in laws 70th birthday, so we surprised her by throwing a party in Pennsylvania with all her family there. It was so great seeing her look of shock and surprise, when she walked in.
It has been a challenging summer, with many changes occuring in the family. The Lord never gives us more than we can handle, and I am spending many moments in prayer and reflection.
I know that is how he refines me..... so I am claiming it as one of His blessings. I just hope I can learn all that God has to show me about myself and others during this time, and that I am sensitive to the Holy Spirits' direction for my life.

Easter 2009
Had a wonderful Easter. Our weekend started on Saturday with Eggstavaganzoo at the Nashville Zoo.
We picked up our grandkids and headed over for a fun filled day of animal sightings, and easter egg hunts. Brayden who is 2 1/2 proudly announced right off the jump, how he had drawn on his bedroom walls with a magic marker. Some things never change. My son did the same thing when he was that age!
On Sunday, our church had a beautiful choir special during the worship hour, followed by an easter egg hunt on the lawn. After church we had our usual dinner tradition, spiral ham, deviled eggs, macaroni salad, hunkey slaw, pickled beets. Sound different?
It is a Pennsylvania trandition that my husband has brought to the south!
We had a family movie time after dinner, and then snacked on leftovers all afternoon.
My idea of a great holiday!

It's been awhile
Gee..... it has been such a long time since my last post.
I have had an interesting 2009 so far.
It is amazing how much a person can deal with from year to year.
Not all of it is good, but God knows how much we can go through, and how
to endure. He is the teacher of endurance, and grace.
I have been happily preparing my flower gardens, and enjoying the
spring weather we have been having. I LOVE SPRING!!
I think it is my favorite season, because of all the new growth and life forming
all around!

Ho....Ho.....Ho..... Getting ready for Christmas sure is a lot of fun. It can be exhausting too, with all the unpacking of decorations, deciding where they are all going to go in the house, and displaying them. We put up the tree last night, and today I spent all day decorating the house with my Christmas village, and all the other nick nacks to put on display.
I love to see them all up, and the house looking so festive!! OK Santa, now you can come!

ONLINE CROPPING
Well...... I tried my hand at online scrapbooking last weekend. It was a lot of fun entering the challenges, and trying to win some prizes. I still don't know if I did, but I overcame some intimidations by posting my pictures, and accessing the forums.
Now I know why people get hooked on this. It is very creative and fun!

Drove to Southaven MS to visit with Kayla this past weekend. We had such a great time.
We relaxed in the hotel room, watched stupid old movies on TV, made halloween cards,
ate out, and shopped till we dropped. We also visited the Memphis Zoo on Saturday, which was a lot of fun because the animals were all out in the cooler weather.
It was nice just spending time with her one-on-one, and being together.
The drive was tough on the way there, because I drove straight from work Friday morning, and had to stop along the way to sleep 2 hours in a rest area.
But I made it ..... Yeah!!! and all was good!
